Wheat prices in the world are rising at dizzying speed following the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the draught, and now the war between Russia and Ukraine, the world’s granaries. In addition, the quantities of wheat in the world are not enough for all of the consumers who need animal feed. The first to receive the animal feed are the large consumers, and the smaller farmers – cattle ranchers who are at the bottom of the food chain, face a serious crisis and are unable to obtain the feed they need, both in terms of quantities and due to the high prices.
The Jordan Valley is the main location in Israel where dates are grown. The valley includes thousands of dunams of date groves.
Artzenu established a complex, unique system by which we collect and take the trimmings from the date palms from the farmers and turn them into bales of feed for animals.
This is a unique environmental project that turns raw waste into animal feed.
