Leibo Overlook

"רק עץ ידי נטעו… רק שביל רגלי כבשו על פני שדות"

Leibo was built in memory of Yehuda Binyamin Leibovich, who fell during a Jordanian attack on the Jordan Valley.

Yehuda was the son of David and Leah, who were Holocaust survivors and immigrated to Israel during the British mandate period, grew up in Kiryat Ata and studied at Yeshivat Beit Shmuel.

From a young age, Yehuda was characteristically involved in acts of kindness and helping others. He loved spending time in nature and traveled the country extensively.

After graduation, he drafted as part of the Garin Nachal and fought for his right to serve in a combat unit, despite having a lower profile due to his eyesight. During the War of Attrition, Yehuda was wounded in a Jordanian attack on the Jordan Valley.

On 12 Iyar 5729, Yehuda returned his soul to its Maker at the young age of 19.
